As an active member of our community, St. James Conservancy is dedicated to helping the Town of St. James become more sustainable. We do this by protecting the natural environment, providing valuable education through information sharing such as our downloadable science-based documents, and hosting community events. We can present on a number of topics to your group or organization, and we now offer the services listed on this page to the St. James community, for a small donation. Wildlife Habitat Certification Consulting

Curious about the entire process of certifying your property but have real questions or concerns that are preventing you from taking action? Our National Wildlife Federation Habitat Steward will visit your property, analyze your landscape, and make recommendations to help you qualify as a certified Wildlife Habitat.

Turtle Basking Platform Installation

With 250 ponds across 6,000 acres, St. James has an abundant assortment of beautiful water views for our enjoyment. Every one of them is home to various wildlife, including turtles. The Conservancy will work with you, your HOA, and the Ponds Committee to determine if your pond is suitable for a turtle basking platform.

And, if so, we'll install it!

Wildlife Trail Camera Setup on your lot

St. James has been certified by the National Wildlife Federation as an official "Community Wildlife Habitat". We are rich in wildlife here with notable sightings almost everyday. We can help you capture spectacular stills and video of wildlife visiting your property, day and night with our state-of-the-art solar trail camera.

The Conservancy can provide speakers for your group or organization (large or small) on topics related to our work, recycling, conservation, wildlife habitat, living shoreline, and other topics.

Who doesn't love Bluebirds!? Add color, motion, and joy to your property throughout the year by installing one of our premium Bluebird Houses, made in North Carolina. Upon delivery, we can provide location advice along with a Bluebird Fact Sheet with tips and maintenance support.
